Did you know that kids should be
getting about 10 hours of sleep a
night?
Sleep is very important. Without a
good night's sleep, your body begins
to not function properly.
Your body repairs itself when you
sleep. So if you are exercising and not
sleeping enough, you won't gain the
benefits of the exercise that you did.
You may even run your body down
and cause yourself to get sick. You
won't accomplish your goals if you
don't listen to your body.
When you're tired, you don't feel like
exercising. Even if you're eating
healthy foods, you won't burn the
calories you take in and these extra
calories get stored as fat. Lack of
exercise causes your metabolism to
slow down, which in turn causes your
body to burn calories at a slower rate.
The result may be unwanted weight
gain in the form of fat.
